Team wins District 24 title in comeback victory

TOWER CITY – Down 6-0 with three innings to play, Upper Dauphin County manager Kevin Hoover reminded his team of the heartbreak they suffered last year to Cressona and how they were one of the best teams in District 24 LL play.
The youngsters, ages 10 to 12 took it all to heart, rallying back to bring home a victory and the Pennsylvania District 24 title with a 8-7 win over Cressona on July 12 in Tower City.
After spotting Cressona the lead, UDC started their comeback in the third when Wil Laskowski scored on a RBI single by Zak Underkoffler, making it 6-1. In the fourth, Upper Dauphin’s bats came alive, with hits by Brady Evans and Brayden Shales, putting runners on first and third. A walk loaded the bases and then Hunter Zerby hit a sacrifice fly to score Evans, putting the score at 6-2.
After Nic Joseph singled, Underkoffler came up to bat, putting the first pitch out of the park for a grand slam home run, tying the game at 6-6.
Cressona got a run in the fifth to take back the lead, but UDC came back swinging again, starting the fifth with Evans’ double, who then advanced
