Halifax girls win TVL title

Lady Wildcats, Pine Grove, Line Mountain open post-season play this week

Halifax started their postseason off with a big win, defeating both East Juniata and Juniata to win the Tri-Valley League Championship, heading into District III that will begin on Friday, Feb. 24.
Pine Grove, the lone area qualifier in District XI, had a rough start to their second season, dropping out of the Schuylkill League playoffs with a 68-39 to eventual champion Minersville on Friday, Feb. 14. The Lady Cardinals will open up play in the District XI Class AAA tournament as the fourth seed with a game on Friday, Feb. 24 at Martz Hall, Pottsville against Collegium Charter School.
Line Mountain earned the fourth seed in the District IV Class AA tournament, earning a home game against fifth-seeded Muncy, which was played Tuesday, Feb. 21 after this issue went to press.
