Lime on the loose

Hegins Twp. Police investigated a truck rollover on Wednesday, March 16, at approximately 7:50 a.m. on Schwenks Road, about one mile south of Valley View. A large 10-wheel lime truck operated by Jeffrey Herb, 43, Sunbury, was traveling east on Schwenks Road and drove onto the left berm of the roadway while negotiating a curve. The operator lost control of the truck causing it to roll onto its right side blocking both travel lanes. The road was closed for approximately three hours. No injuries were reported. Police were assisted by Hegins Fire and Rescue, Sacramento Fire Company and Hegins Area Ambulance.

Mail pick-up heading to Millersburg

The current facility, at 1878 George Street, pictured here, will close October 24, 2015 under an “emergency suspension of operations”. Rural customers will have no change in their service, but P.O. boxholders will temporarily pick up their mail in Millersburg.

DALMATIA – Some customers served by the Dalmatia Post Office will have to pick up their mail in Millersburg, until a new post office location is found and a new lease arrangement obtained.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) will initiate an “emergency suspension of operations” at the close of the business day October 24, 2015, according to Karen Mazurkiewicz, Communications Programs Specialist, USPS, Central PA and Western NY Districts.
