Williams Valley, Halifax earn runner-up trophies

Pine Grove 49, Schuylkill Valley 22
PINE GROVE — The Cardinals opened their season in a big way starting with a 20-2 run in the first quarter to rout Schuylkill Valley in non-league action Dec. 12.
Rachel Edge led the Pine Grove effort with 14 points while Faith Shiffer contributed nine points for the Cardinals.

CAMP HILL — The Lady Wildcats opened their season with a win and advanced to the championship game of the Camp Hill Tip-Off Tournament, but needing overtime to do so.
Halifax outscored Columbia 8-2 in the final stanza for the win. The team was led by Brianna Turner with 29 points and 14 rebounds. Brynn Miller added 14 in the win.

HARRISBURG — Millersburg erased a seven-point lead in the third quarter, but Harrisburg Christian squeaked out a win in the nite cap of the Harrisburg Christian Tip-off Tournament on Dec. 9.
Mya Heddings led Millersburg with 12 points while Mariah Armor added 11 points in the loss in the Lady Indians’ season opener.
