Kutztown 4, Pine Grove 3
PINE GROVE — Kutztown scored a run in the top of the sixth inning to get the win June 26, dropping Pine Grove to 8-7 on the season.
The loss overshadowed the day Jason Soper had at both sides of the ball, hitting 3-for-3 at the plate with a two RBIs and a triple, while also striking out nine on the mound.
Dilan Smith had a good day at the plate for Pine Grove, going 2-for-4 wth a double, an RBI and scoring a run.

VALLEY VIEW — With this win, the first game of a June 26 doubleheader, Valley View handed Post 217, out of Topton, their first loss of the season.
No details were available on the game, but the win put them in a tie with Pottsville for first place in the league’s north division.

VALLEY VIEW — The West Enders tried a comeback in the seventh inning, but Schuylkill Valley held them off, dropping Valley View’s record to 5-7 on the season.
C.J. Steinhilber had the hot bat for Valley View, going 4-for-4 on the day with a triple, a run scored and two RBIs. Adrian Belding took the loss for the home team on the mound

VALLEY VIEW — Details were not available but the Valley View Legion team came up with two big wins June 25, upping their record to 5-6 as they play a compressed schedule to get their games in before the playoff qualifying deadline.
Valley View started their season later than the rest of the teams due to North Schuylkill’s deep run in the PIAA state baseball playoffs.

KUTZTOWN — Pine Grove’s seven-game winning streak went by the wayside with this loss June 25 to Kutztown in Schuykll-Berks Legion action.
Details on the game were not reported.

PINE GROVE — Tanner Levan’s single in the bottom of the seventh scored Ryan Wolfe and gave Pine Grove their eighth win of the season and put them in a tie with Southern Area for the top spot in the Central Division. He was 2-for-4 on the day to lead Pine Grove, while Jacob Leininger added a double.
Dylan Brown got the win on the mound, striking out five.

MIDDLEPORT — A strong effort by Andrew Belding both offensively and defensively helped the Valley View Legion team to their third victory of the season June 23 with a five-inning victory.
Belding was the winning pitcher, striking out three and allowing only three hits. He also had a good day at the play, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Richie Zahodnick, Jake Masser and Kenny Ross also contributed two hits for Valley View.

MIDDLEPORT — The Grovers broke open a 2-2 tie with 12 runs in the fourth and fifth innings to end this game by the 10-run rule, upping their record to 7-4 on the season.
Jacob Leininger drove in four runs with a double while Dilan Smith had three RBIs of his own while notching three singles. He also scored three runs and came in to relieve winning pitcher Jason Soper, the two combining on a four-hit shutout.

POTTSVILLE — Playing their seventh game in the last five days, Valley View could only muster three hits on June 21, being shut out by Pottsville.
C.J. Steinhilber, Kenny Ross, and Isaac Lucas hit safely for Valley View. Steinhilber took the loss for Valley View, allowing only four hits.

PINE GROVE — This battle between two local teams June 20 came down to a pitchers’ duel between Pine Grove’s Jake Leininger and Valley View’s Kenny Kropp.
Pine Grove scored early in the first and third inning with Dilam Smith scoring on errors both times. Valley View got their run in the top of the seventh with Jake Masser ripping a double that scored C.J Steinhilber, but Pine Grove got out of the jam to pick up their sixth win of the season and dropping the West Enders to 2-4 on the year.

TAMAQUA — The Valley View West Enders and the Tamaqua Blue Sox split a doubleheader in Tamaqua June 19, with Tamaqua winning the opener and Valley View getting the nightcap.
In the 10-5 win, Zach Stokes and Chase Schaeffer knocked in two runs each while the team pounded out 12 hits, giving the win to pitcher Andrew Belding.
Tyler Lucas, Dawson Boltz, and Zach Sokes had two hits each for Valley View in the 6-4 loss.

PINE GROVE — The Grovers evened their record to 4-4 with a win over Pottsville June 19, the first game of a doubleheader for Pine Grove
Tanner Levan had the hot bat for the winners, driving in three runs. Dylan Brown went three-for-four on the day with two runs and an RBI. Levan was also the winning pitcher in a game which saw both teams commit 12 errors.

PINE GROVE — The story of this game, a win that improved Pine Grove’s record to 5-4, was the pitching of Austin Fick.
Fick allowed only one hit and struck out 14 in the victory, the second game of a doubleheader Pine Grove played on Sunday.
Nick Kreiser had the hot bat for Pine Grove in the game, going 3-for-3 while Levan drove in two runs.

VALLEY VIEW — The West Enders opened their home season at Valley View Park with a loss in five innings to the visiting Southern Area squad.
Chase Schaeffer and Tyler Lucas were each two-for-two in the loss, but it was a tough day on the mound for the Valley View pitching staff as they gave up 10 hits, six of them doubles, walked seven batters and hit four more, while committing five errors.
Earlier in the day, Valley View lost to Hamburg 3-2. After Saturday’s action, Valley View’s record stands at 1-2 on their young season.

MINERSVILLE — Kenny Kropp pitched a five-hitter in Valley View’s opening win in Schuylkill-Berks Legion action on June 17.
Kropp struck out 10 to pick up the victory, while C.J. Steinhilber knocked in four runs in his two hits. Tyler Lucas had a pair of hits and two RBI in the win for the West Enders.
