TOWER CITY — Out of Williams Valley’s 16 wins this season, 15 of them have come with Tianna Yanoscak on the mound.
May 9 was no different as Yanoscak struck out seven and allowed one run on five hits to defeat crosstown rival Tri-Valley, dropping them to 14-4 on the season.
Yanoscak drew first blood offensively in the second inning, knocking Tri-Valley pitcher Kelsey Schwalm around with a two-run double that scored Rayanne Hawk and Kate Whelski.
The Bulldogs cut the lead to 2-1 in the third when Jacey Roth reached base on an error and Maddie Horn picked up her first hit of the day with an RBI single.
Williams Valley put the game out of reach in the fifth when Yanoscak put one close to the fence in center. Horn caught it for the out, but Hawk, who was on second, tagged up and never looked back, scoring on the sacrifice to make it 3-1.
Another sacrifice fly in the sixth and an RBI single from Caitlyn Pinchorski and Williams Valley cruised to the victory.

MILLERSBURG — Jaycee Straub had a 3-for-3 day at the plate as Millersburg won their 10th of the season, putting them in the running for the PIAA District III playoff spot.
Mickayla Grow and Ali Snyder led Upper Dauphin with two hits each as the game featured no extra-base hits.
Lindsay Casner got the win on the mound for the Indians while Lexi Weaver took the loss for Upper Dauphin.

LEHIGHTON — Four hits for Jen Kaufman and two triples by Faith Sleva gave Pine Grove their 11th win of the season and only a half-game behind leader Tamaqua in the Schuylkill League Division I standings.
Pine Grove broke the game open with a three-run fifth inning, putting them up 5-1 at that point.

TOWER CITY — In a battle of two of the area’s powerhouse softball teams, a timely hit by Rayanne Hawk was the difference in notching Williams Valley’s 15th win.
Down 1-0 in the fifth, Hawk smacked a two-run triple into right field that brought home two runs. Kate Whelski followed that with an RBI single to push the score to 3-1.
Upper Dauphin scored first in the game thanks to Lea Lenker’s RBI single to drive in Kendra Schlegel, making it 1-0 until the fifth.
Tianna Yanoscak continued on her pitching tear, getting the win after striking out seven, walking three and allowing six hits. Mickayla Grow took the loss for the Trojans, striking out one and walking two while giving up six hits.
The Trojans are now 10-4 on the year and have clinched a spot in the Tri-Valley League playoffs.

TOWER CITY — It was 15 up and 15 down for winning pitcher Tianna Yanoscak, throwing a five-inning perfect game for the Lady Vikings 14th win of the season.
Williams Valley had 15 hits in the game with Megan and Alyssa Schadle being the two to beat with three hits each while Alyssa notching a two-run home run in the fourth inning.
Four other players had two hits each for Williams Valley in the win.

HEGINS — Some good base running helped Tri-Valley to their 14th win of the season thanks to an error by Schuylkill Haven.
An error in the outfield helped Wendy Header score with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to come away with the victory.
Tri-Valley led 2-0 after one inning thanks to an RBI single from Maddie Horn and a sacrifice fly by Cat Troutman. Kelsey Schwalm was the winning pitcher, her 10th win of the season.

ELIZABETHVILLE — Two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning help the Trojans improve to 10-3 on the season, giving them a spot in the District III postseason tournament.
Mickayla Grow got the complete game victory as the Trojans scored two runs on an error in left field.
Kendra Schlegel scored a triple for Upper Dauphin while Riley Mahoney and Autumn Walker doubled in the win.

TOWER CITY — The Lady Viking remained undefeated in Schuylkill League play and improved to 13-1 with this three-inning win May 4.
Winning pitcher Caitlyn Pinchorski threw a one-hit shutout while having a three-hit day at the plate with two singles and a triple. Rayanne Hawk went three-for-three with a single, double and triple as the Vikings amassed 14 hits in the win.

MILLERSBURG — Millersburg held East Juniata to just two hits as they defeated them in five innings for their ninth victory of the season to remain a half-game behind Upper Dauphin in the Tri-Valley League East standings.
Lindsey Casner struck out one in picking up the win on the mound, but was big at the plate, with two doubles and a triple, knocking in three runs. Taryn Herb had three hits as well, including a double, and while Mariah Armor added a triple.

Lexi Weaver batted in five runs in her three hits, including a home run to lead Upper Dauphin’s 12-hit attacked. Mickayla Grow and Grace Klinger also had three hits each in the win. Weaver also was the game’s winning pitcher, striking out 12.
Myah King and Cassidy Yeader hit safely for Line Mountain with pitcher Sierra Bobb taking the loss.
