Luther S. Maurer

Luther Sunday Maurer, 101, of 407 Main Road Pitman, died Friday, March 18, at Mountain View Nursing and Rehab Center, Coal Township.

Luther was born in Helfenstein, on March 15, 1915, a son of the late Anna (Marlowe) and Charles Maurer.

He attended school in Helfenstein and received special training at the Philadelphia Ship Yard.

He was employed in management at Roger Penske Auto- mobile in Allentown and last owned and operated an Auto Parts store in New Jersey.

He was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice I. (Boyce) Maurer who passed away in 1993 and is survived by his companion Pauline E. Herb.

He is survived by two children, daughter Ann Marie Hughes, and son Clifford L. Maurer; three sisters, Naomi Yarnell, Miriam Wetzel and Esther Wetzel; two grandchil- dren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son Bruce C. Maurer, Sr.; a grandson Bruce C. Maurer, Jr.; brothers Arthur, Earl, Paul and Raymond Maurer; and sisters Stella Miller and Beatrice Pennypacker

Memorial service was held Monday, March 21, at the Ste- phen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Kentucky Mountain Bible College 855 KY-541, Jackson KY, 41339, noted for the Wolfgang Memorial Scholarship Fund, or the charity of ones choice.
