Williams Valley outlasts Minersville

MINERSVILLE - Cody Miller had a game-high 19 points, including four 3-pointers, as Williams Valley opened the season with a 46-41 victory over Minersville in a Schuylkill League Division II contest Dec. 13.

Collin Hashin led the Miners with 20 points, including six 3-pointers.

Minersville was held scoreless in the final 2 minutes of the game as Miller, Ben Rautzahn and Stephen Sedesse combined for four free throws to seal the victory.

HEGINS - Conrad Opozda scored 15 points to lead the Bulldogs to a Division II victory Dec. 13 over the Hurricanes.

Opozda scored Tri-Valley's nine fourth-quarter points while Jaden Buchanan tallied six of his eight points in the third quarter.

Austin Charles led the Hurricanes with four points.

E. Juniata 72

U. Dauphin 51

McALISTERVILLE - Mac Ney led Upper Dauphin with 13 points and Joe Trently hit three 3-pointers but the Trojans fell to the Tigers in a Tri-Valley League contest.

Bailey Coder scored 27 points and Nick Lorenz totaled 23 for East Juniata.

ROBESONIA - Kobe D'Agostino scored a team-high 10 points for the Cardinals in their non-league loss to the Scouts.

Cartier Palford scored 14 points and teammate Andy Orr had 13 for the Scouts, who led 40-10 at halftime.
