Williams Valley girls continue winning ways

Wms. Valley 3
POTTSVILLE - Hannah Nestor scored two goals, including the game-winner in the 76th minute, as Williams Valley rallied past Nativity in a Division II match Sept. 28.
Rayanne Hawk added one goal and one assist for the Vikings.
Keegan White scored both goals for Nativity, which led 2-1 at halftime. Goalie Rachael Souchak made 35 saves. With the victory, the Vikes were tied with Minersville in second place in Division II standings, behind Schuylkill Haven.
S. Haven 6
HEGINS - Schuylkill Haven junior Rileigh Evitts scored her 100th career goal Saturday, Sept. 28 as her team achieved another milestone in a Schuylkill League Division II game.
Evitts eventually tallied three times and added an assist in the game as the Hurricanes breezed to a 6-1 triumph over host Tri-Valley to further a school-record start for Schuylkill Haven, which improved to 13-0. Kelsey Sisko added two goals and three assists, while Jade Wilson scored off one of Sisko's assists.
The winners held a 2-0 lead at halftime before pulling away with four second-half goals.
Tri-Valley's Katie Dietrich scored her team's goal to break up goalkeeper Genie Tucci's shutout bid.
With the victory, Schuylkill Haven maintained its four-point lead in the Division II standings.
Pine Grove 1
PINE GROVE - Gabrielle Evans produced a goal and an assist in the opening half to lead Pottsville to a victory over the host Cardinals in a Schuylkill League Division I game.
Gabrielle Vetrano scored off Evans' assist to open the scoring before Evans scored an unassisted goal. Kyra Bulino gave the Crimson Tide a 3-0 halftime edge off an assist by Gabriella Bentz.
Jess Fath scored for Pine Grove in the second half's lone tally.
With the win, Pottsville moved into a first-place tie with Blue Mountain in Division I. The Tide, though, have played one more league game than the Eagles.

WILLIAMSTOWN - Caitlin Pinchorski scored her first varsity goal just before time expired in regulation, and Hannah Nestor gave the Vikings the win in double overtime off an assist from Emily Wessner in a non-league victory over the Olympians.
Cat Condly, Rebecca Cressman and Tayler Kidder scored on breakaways to give Jim Thorpe a 3-0 lead. Cressman's second tally gave the Olympians a 4-3 edge in the 65th minute.

ELIZABETHVILLE - Brooke Troutman stopped 19 shots and Caitlyn Reed stonewalled six, however, the Trojans were blanked by East Juniata in a Tri-Valley League match.

WILLIAMSTOWN - Hannah Nestor recorded a hat trick and two assists, while teammate Rayanne Hawk collected a hat trick as the Vikings crushed the Red Raiders in a Division II match at Gerry Stauffenberg Field at Viking Stadium.
Nestor and Hawk each scored two goals in the first half as Williams Valley got out to a 6-0 halftime advantage.
Kyrsten Miller added two goals for the Vikings, while Teja Jo Stroup had a goal and an assist for Williams Valley, which moved into a second-place tie in the division with Minersville and Tri-Valley.
Rachel Schultz scored the only goal for Lourdes.
MINERSVILLE - Dominka Rutecki had a hat trick to lead the Miners to a Division II victory Sept. 25 over the Bulldogs.
The victory allowed Minersville to move into a second-place tie with Tri-Valley and Williams Valley in the division.
All three teams have 10 points. Undefeated Schuylkill Haven leads the division with 14.
Hannah Rinaldo added a goal and two assists for the Miners, who led 3-0 at halftime. Rachel Sterner also scored for Minersville.
Taylor Header had the only goal for Tri-Valley.

ORWIGSBURG - Abigail Fanelli had a second-half hat trick to lead Blue Mountain to a 4-0 shutout of Pine Grove in a Schuylkill League Division I girls' soccer showdown Sept. 25 at the Eagles' Nest.
Blue Mountain maintained its hold on first place in the division with the victory.
Madyson Riegel set up Jillian Moyer in the first half to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead at the half. Blue Mountain held an 8-1 advantage in shots on goal on the contest.

HEGINS - Haley Schwalm scored a goal on a free kick in overtime to send the Bulldogs to thrilling Division II victory over the Vikings Sept. 23 at Bulldog Stadium.
Brianna Wiscount set up Brittany Smeltz in the first half to give Tri-Valley a 1-0 lead. Williams Valley's Emily Wessner scored in the second half to tie the game.

PINE GROVE - Mackenzie Lesh scored two second-half goals, while Adrianna Tennis had a goal in the first as the Cardinals beat the Olympians in a Division I match at Cardinal Stadium.
Cat Condly scored both goals for Jim Thorpe, with her second coming in the 59th minute to give the Olympians a 2-1 lead. But Lesh scored in the 67th and 73rd minutes, as Pine Grove remained a point behind Blue Mountain in the division standings.
