The high school girls' basketball season kicked-off with tournaments and season openers earlier this week. Below are some local scores from teams in The Citizen-Standard coverage area.

Tri-Valley 77

Hamburg 53

HAMBURG - Tara Nahodil scored 26 points and Taylor Troutman added 20 as the Dawgs won the championship game of the Hamburg Tip-Off Tournament.

Juli Weber added 13 for Tri-Valley.

Tara Klee tallied 15 for Hamburg, while Kassidy Lesher totaled 13.

Wms. Valley 46

Halifax 40

TOWER CITY - The Lady Vikes downed Halifax on December 8 at home.

Palmyra 64

Pine Grove 37

FREDERICKSBURG - Becky Evans scored 15 points to lead the Cardinals, who fell behind by 13 points in the first quarter and could never recover in the championship game of the Northern Lebanon Tournament.

Palmyra had four players reach double figures with Carly Richardson leading the team with 19 points.

Downingtown 44

U. Dauphin 35

CAMP HILL - McKensie Miller and Katie Schwenk both scored 13 point for the Trojans in a losing effort against the Cougars in the consolation game of the Camp Hill Tournament.

Page Warful led Downingtown East with 17 points followed by Jessica Ritchie with 12.

Pine Grove 55

Sch. Valley 19

PINE GROVE - Steffi Sampson led all scorers with 14 points in the Cardinals non-league victory over the Spartans.

Lauren Thompson added 13 points for Pine Grove, while Becky Evans netted 12.

Tri-Valley 72

Cocalico 43

HAMBURG - Tara Nahodil scored a game-high 22 points, leading Tri-Valley's girls' basketball team to a season-opening, 72-43 win over Cocalico in the Hamburg Tip-Off Tournament on Friday night.

Juli Weber added 14 points and Taylor Troutman tallied 11. The Dawgs' starters did not play in the fourth quarter after building a 58-30 advantage through three.

Tri-Valley faced Hamburg in the final.

Camp Hill 66

U. Dauphin 55

CAMP HILL - Katie Schwenk scored a game-high 22 points in the Trojans' loss to the Lions in the Camp Hill Tip-Off Tournament.

Krysta Wynn added 12 points and Taylor Brown added 10 for Upper Dauphin, which faced Downingtown East in the consolation game.

Penns Valley 40

Line Mtn. 25

MANDATA - Line Mountain jumped out to a 7-2 lead to start its own tip off tournament championship game against Penns Valley December 8. However, the Rams used their height advantage to beat the Eagles.
