PA Xplosion shows success in NSA World Series Qualifier, earns berth

GREATER BUFFALO, NY - NSA World Series Qualifier 16U Champions, Central PA Xplosion earned a paid berth to the 2011 NSA World Series held in Rock Hill, SC or Portland, OR.
The Xplosion went 1-1 in pool play on July 17 earning them a 10 seed in a pool of 24 teams from 3 states and 3 teams from Canada.
They defeated the Queens Lady Rangers of Queens NY 14-0, to start the single elimination play on Sunday.
Next was WNY Sting Gold of Buffalo NY 8-0, Guelph Gators of Ontario Canada (2009 Provincials 16U Champions) 8-0, Amherst Lightning Kelly 6-2.
They defeated the Amherst Lightning Gold 7-3 in the Championship game. They finished 6-1 with 4 shutouts and outscored their opponents 45-10.
The Xplosion is 16 U summer team with players from Schuylkill County; with 1 player from North Schuylkill, 1 from Minersville, 3 from Pine Grove, 2 from Pottsville, 1 from Tamaqua and 4 from Tri-Valley school districts to form the "Elite Coal Region Softball Team".
