Archery tourney rescheduled
HALIFAX - The archery tournament scheduled for Friday, Feb. 22 at Halifax Area High School was postponed to Friday, March 1 from 6 to 9:30 p.m., according to Halifax Archery Coach Jared Shade. Halifax, Millersburg, Williams Valley and Gillingham Charter School are among the schools scheduled to compete.
Hunter Education Class offered
VALLEY VIEW - A Hunter Trapper Education (HTE) class will be offered at the Hegins Ambulance Association Building on Gap Street in Valley View on Saturday, March 9, from 9 a.m. till 4 p.m. Due to the new format, the class is a single day, however an online course of study should be completed prior to registering for the class. Course study and registration can be accomplished by visiting the Game Commission website at www.pgc.state.pa.us and following the hunter education link - Schuylkill County. The course is free including all classroom materials and a complimentary lunch, sponsored by the Valley View Gun Club. Anyone who is at least 11 years old on class day is eligible to register and attend. Learn bowhunting skills
VALLEY VIEW - A "Successful Bowhunting Class" will be held Saturday, April 6, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Certification through successful completion of this class is necessary to obtain an archery license in certain states. In order to register for this class attendees must first complete an online course of study by visiting the Game Commission website at www.pgc.state.pa.us and following the hunter education link. Upon completion of the online study, a $20 fee will be charged to take the online test and registration may follow. The classroom and field portion of the class will be held at the joint grounds of the Valley View Gun Club and Tri-Valley Bucktree Archery Club.
