Wilbur H. Goodman, 70, of 1517 East Mountain Road, Hegins, died Sunday, June 27, at his residence.

Born April 7, 1940, he was a son of the late Wilbur L. and Edith Yordy Goodman.

He married Bernadette Blascovich on Jan. 30, 1965 in St. Joseph Church, Shamokin.

Wilbur was a teacher at Williams Valley School District for 30 years.

He attended Altown and Lincoln Elementary School.

After graduating from Shamokin High School in 1958, Wilbur entered the Navy on June 17, 1958, and was trained in high security, cryptograph and radio school. Before his honorable discharge on June 5, 1962, Wilbur served on the USS Independence and received the Good Conduct Medal.

After his military service, Wilbur attended and graduated from Bloomsburg University.

Wilbur was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, where he sang in the men's choir, of the Williamstown American Legion, the Hegins Fire Company, the Paralized Veterans of America and the National Rifle Association.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Wilbur was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Goodman, and a sister, Nancy Anoia.

In addition to his wife, Wilbur is survived by a daughter, Holly and her husband, Kevin McManis, and their children, Hannah, Mikenna and Kelia, all of Lake Forest, Calif.; a son, Brian Goodman and his wife, Corinne Maurer Goodman, and their daughter, Courtney Goodman and stepsons, Jeff Jr., Krystopher and Nathan Boyer, all of Alburtis; a daughter, Colette Caba and her daughters, Paige Erdman and Reilly Caba, all of Enola; a brother, Larry Goodman, Titusville, N.J.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 2, in St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 1382 W. Main St., Valley View, with Pastor Philip Sabas officiating. Interment was in Summit Hill Cemetery, Irish Valley.

Donations may be made in his memory to Pinnacle Health Hospice, 310 One Norwegian Plaza, Pottsville, PA 17901, or to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, PO Box 221, Valley View, PA 17983, or the ALS Foundation.

Leonard J. Luckas Funeral Home Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin, was in charge of arrangements.
