Wellington Herbert Lengel, 74, of Pine Grove, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at home.

Born in Pine Grove Township, Sept. 25, 1938, he was a son of the late George Washington and Alma Leonard Lengel.

He was a 1956 graduate of Pine Grove High School.

Wellington was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.

He served with the Army and then was employed and retired as an F16 technician from Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

He was a member of and retired from the Air Force 419th Fighter Wing Reserves.

Wellington enjoyed playing golf.

Surviving are his daughter, Debra Lengel, Pine Grove; four grandchildren, Phillip Openshaw, Jake Wellington Openshaw and Brooke Openshaw, all of Ogden, Utah, and Taylor Openshaw, Pine Grove; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Stevenson and James Wellington Openshaw; four sisters, Betty Hummel, Myerstown, Nancy Walsh, Hollywood, Md., and Carol Lamborne and Joan Kost, both of Wellsboro; a brother, John Lengel, Taylor.

Services were held Wednesday, June 19, at H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with Dr. Richard W. Schoenleber officiating. Interment was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
