Walter W. (Mick) Harner, 90, of Sacramento, died Friday, Jan. 27, while in the company of family members, at his residence.

Walter was born in Valley View, on October 3, 1921, a son of the late Mabel (Morgan) and William Harner.

He worked as a Coal Miner at Hegins Mine Co.

Mick attended Hegins Twp School, enjoyed the outdoors and wrestling, and was a Little League Coach.

He was the husband of Margaret Harner. They would have celebrated their 70th anniversary on January 31.

Walter is also survived by two sons Steve Harner, of Sacramento; Kim, husband of Janice Harner, of Sacramento; two grandsons, four great-grandsons and four step-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Tilley Wolfgang, Valley View and a brother, Junior Harner, Tremont.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister, and a grandson.

Memorial services were held at James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, on Thursday, Feb. 2, with Rev. Raymond Holland officiating.
