Tillie Sophia Schwalm, 96, a resident of Tremont Nursing and Rehab Center and formerly of Klingerstown died Friday, Nov. 9, at the Tremont Nursing Home.

Born September 12, 1916 in Klingerstown, she was the daughter, and last surviving member of the late Albert and Barbara (Clark) Schwalm family. She worked in area factories in Gratz and Millersburg, having last been employed by the former Phil Mark Manufacturing Company in Valley View.

Tillie was a member of God's Missionary Church in Pillow and enjoyed crafts and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Meda Schwalm, Bertha Schlegel, Beula Maurer Heim and Hilda Schwalm; and six brothers, Stephen, Leon, John, Ira, Walter and Guy Schwalm. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A viewing was held on November 13 at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Rd., Klingerstown, where the funeral followed with Rev. Aaron Dorman officiating. Interment was in God's Missionary Cemetery, Lykens Township, PA.
