Sherman E. Snyder, 71, of Wiconisco Township, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Harrisburg Hospital.

Born in Wiconisco, Jan. 4, 1941, he was a son of the late Wilson and Francis Machamer Snyder.

He was retired employee of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

He served as a forest warden and was a member of the Vintage Automobile Society. An avid classic car fan, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by a son, Vincent E. Snyder.

Surviving are his wife, Doreen F. Leitzel Snyder; a son, Daniel Snyder and his wife, Tracy, Lykens; two daughters, Noreen Bousman and her husband, Homer, Wiconisco, and Gail Ruch and her husband, Eric, Lykens; a brother, Wilson Snyder, Lykens; a sister, Sonja Golden and her husband, Ed, Montana; seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 15, at John R. Shultz Funeral Home, 406 Market St., Lykens. Interment was in Calvary United Methodist Cemetery, Wiconisco Township.
