share thisRuth N. Ditzler, 90, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Pine Grove, died Friday, June 25, in Regent Care Medical Center, San Antonio.
Born in Washington Township, Oct. 1, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Elias M. and Carrie J. Dohner Kintzel.
Ruth was a 1939 graduate of Pine Grove High School. She loved crocheting, quilting and canning. She and her husband, Charles, were great gardeners.
She was a member of Weslyan Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Ditzler, on May 11, 1990; three sisters, Reba Carpenter, Alberta Jenkins and Thelma Mousseau; and a brother, Galen Kintzel.
Surviving are two daughters, Loretta Childs, San Antonio, and Barbara Lord Bretzius, Schuylkill Haven; a son, Nelson Ditzler, Elkton, Md.; a sister, Irene Kintzel, Connecticut; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, July 3, at H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with Pastor Barry Brown officiating. Interment was in Schuylkill Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Pine Grove.
