Ruth E. Zurat, 90, of Pine Grove, died Saturday, Jan. 16, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Pine Grove, Sept. 26, 1919, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Heinbach Kintzel.
Ruth worked as a sewing machine operator for Ethel Maid Inc., Schuylkill Haven, and the former C & W Mfg., Pine Grove.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.
Ruth loved being with her family, eating at Brothers Buffet and crocheting.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Joseph Zurat, on Oct. 7, 1993; two brothers, Joseph Kintzel and Leroy Kintzel.
Surviving are three daughters, Kay, wife of Gary Cooper, Schuylkill Haven, Brenda, wife of Norman Miller, and Maryanne Krammes, Pine Grove; two sons, Harold E., husband of Diane Krammes Jr., Pine Grove, and Maximillian S. Zurat, New Cumberland; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Laban E. Kintzel, Pine Grove, and John Kintzel, Harrisburg; one sister, Nancy Emerich, Pine Grove.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 20, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 312 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, with Dr. Richard Schoenleber, Pastor Maximillian S. Zurat and Pastor Ted Williams officiating. Interment was in the Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Pine Grove. The family would prefer, in lieu of flowers, donations be given to the Capital Improvement Fund of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 312 S. Tulpehocken Street, Pine Grove, PA 17963, in her memory. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
