share thisRussell R. Schadle, 75, of Gratz. died Friday, Feb. 12, at Loyalton of Harrisburg Hospice Center, Harrisburg.
Russell was born in Klingerstown, Pa. on October 30, 1934, the son of the late Ray and Eva (Klinger) Schadle. He was the husband of Betty (Bingaman) Schadel.
He was a member of Simeon United Lutheran Church Gratz, PA . He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He worked as a Barber in Gratz, PA.,retired employee of Penn DOT. A Member of the Gratz Fire Co and the former Mayor of Gratz.
Russell is survived by two daughters, Virgina Guest of Harrisburg, PA; Alice Schadle of Harrisburg, PA; a son,John Schadle of Lewisberry, PA; two step sons Franklin Bixler of Philadelphia, PA; , Timothy Bixler of Millersburg, PA; Russell is also survived by a sister, Ellen Johnston of New Cumberland, PA; a brother, Ray Schadle of Dalmatia, PA He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Services were held Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz, with Rev. Barry Ridge officiating. Interment was in Gratz Union Cemetery.
