Russel G. Lower, Sr., 91, of Williamstown, died Friday, Dec. 30, at the Tremont Health and Rehab.

Born in Williamstown, June 17, 1920, he was a son of the late Gordon and Mae Finley Lower.

Russ was a graduate of the former Williamstown High School.

He was a WW II Army Air Core Veteran.

He retired from Bethlehem Steel.

He was a member of the Williamstown United Methodist Church where he served on various boards; a life member and former officer of the Williamstown Fire Company; a life member of the Dauphin County Fireman's Assoc. and a member and former officer of the Williamstown American Legion.

In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by his brother Harold.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Lillian D. Johs Lower; one son, Russel Lower Jr. and his wife Brenda, Tower City; two granddaughters, Heather Zerembo and her husband Bob, Tower City and Lauren Shutt and her husband Larry, Orwin; one sister, Carol Hoffner, Elizabethville.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 4 from the Williamstown United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Stevan Atanasoff officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown.
