Robert S. Mowery, 53, of Pine Grove, died Wednesday, Jan. 11 with his loved ones at his side after a brave battle with a lengthy illness.
Born July 28, 1958, in Derry Township, Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Virginia "Ginger" Niman Mowery, and C. Robert Mowery and his wife, Traceye, Lewistown.
Bob was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, Tremont.
He was honorably discharged from the Navy.
Bob worked for many years as a structural steel fabricator and shop foreman in Reading, prior to his illness.
Bob especially enjoyed the outdoors particularly with his family.
Surviving are his loving family, including his wife of 26 years, Priscilla R. Gerber Mowery; three sons, Amos Mowery, Minersville, Micah Mowery and Benjamin Mowery, both at home; three sisters, Christine Casner and her husband, Mifflintown, Arrin Gilson and her husband, McAlisterville, and Amanda Mowery and her husband, Mifflintown; two brothers, Rodney Mowery and his wife, Concord, N.C., and Larry Mowery, McAlisterville; three stepsisters, Mary Helen, Melanie and Melissa; nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Jan. 14 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, Tremont, with Kent Steinmetz officiating. The family would prefer, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in his memory to Covenant Home Care, 1510 Highway 61 S, Pottsville, PA 17901. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, is in charge of arrangements.
