Robert L. Wehry, 91, of Northumberland, formerly of Lewisberry and Ashland died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Robert was born in Pitman, on June 6, 1922, a son of the late Henry F. and Bessie L. (Snyder) Wehry.

He served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater as a T/5 in WW II.

He worked as a bridge builder at J.R. Nissley, Bear Creek Construction Co. and No. 1 Construction Company, retiring in 1987.

He was a member and former trustee of the Lavelle Evangelical Congregational Church, Lavelle, and most recently was attending the Sunbury Bible Church. He was also a member of the Albright Brotherhood.

Robert enjoyed playing the piano, singing, gospel music, woodworking and photography.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Monique M. (Sevrin) Wehry; the couple married October 18, 1945 in Belgium.

Robert is also survived by a daughter, Yvonne C., wife of Dennis Wineholt, of Northumberland; three sons, Richard R., husband of Andrea Wehry of Berwick, Randall G., husband of Wendy Wehry of Northumberland, and Rodney L., husband of Anita Wehry of New Ringgold; Scott, Alisa and Melodie, and Jared, Janessa, Jessalynn, Joshua, Jourdan; one great-grandson Carson; one sister, Sadie Heim of Mechanicsburg; and one brother, Marlyn Wehry of Ashland.

He was preceded in death by three siblings, Margaret Reich, Marshall Wehry, and Mae Hatter.

Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Zion E.C. Church, Zion Church Road, Pitman. Interment was in Zion E.C. Cemetery, Pitman.
