Rita L. Hoover, 90, of Tower City, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born in Dudley, PA, March 2, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Edna Karyki Loncosky.
Rita was a retired seamstress from the garment industry. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Chapel, Tower City.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased in death by two husbands, Charles Hoover, 1972 and James Curtin, 1996; three infant children, Joseph, Albert and Nancy Hoover; three grandchildren, Dominic, Suzanne and Joseph; two sisters, Lucy and Josephine; two brothers, Jerry and Thomas.
Surviving are her three children, Charlene M. Hentz and her husband Randy, Tower City; Charles J. Hoover, Georgia and Hedy McCarter and her husband Steve, Maryland; two stepchildren, Dorothy and Joyce; three brothers, Edward, Chester and John Lonscosky; seven grandchildren, Randy and Ryan Hentz; Jeff McCarter, Shana King, Rita, Andrew and Charles Hoover; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 23 at 10 a.m. from Sts. Peter and Paul Chapel, Tower City with Rev. Paul Rothermel as celebrant. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing was Wednesday, Jan. 22 from 6-8 p.m. from the Chapel of Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc. Tower City.
