Myrtle H. (Rebuck) Ferster, 87, formerly of Dornsife and a resident at Nottingham Village in Northumberland since May of 2007, died Friday, Jan. 6 at Nottingham Village. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph "Rusty" W. Ferster who died April 16, 1992.

Born January 18, 1924 in Herndon, she was a daughter of the late George and Katie (Bobb) Rebuck. She worked with her husband on their farm and after the farm was sold worked for Mandata Poultry. She was a member of Himmel's Church of Rebuck. Myrtle enjoyed baking and gardening.

Surviving are a daughter, Cindy Cooley of Sunbury; six grandchildren, Edward Leitzel, Todd Leitel, Dale Ferster, Kimberly Cooley, Stephanie Cooley, and Nicholas Cooley; great grandchildren; two sisters, Hannah Long and Betty Rickert; and two brothers, Paul and Bob Rebuck.

She was preceded in death by a son, Larry D. Ferster, Sr.; a daughter, Phyllis Leitzel; a grandson, Scott Leitzel; two sisters, Pearl Hoy and Iva Adams and two brothers, George and Mark Rebuck.

There will be no viewing. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at Himmel's Church, Rebuck, with Rev. Jane Compton officiating. Burial was in Himmel's Cemetery.

The Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Rd., Klingerstown, has charge of the arrangements.
