Mildred Mae Wolfgang Hefner, 91, of Doylestown, formerly of Saylorsburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at her daughter's home in Chalfont.
Born March 4, 1921, in Klingerstown, she was a daughter of the late Harry L. and Frances E. Adams Wolfgang.
She graduated from Tressler Lutheran Home High School in 1939, and from the School of Nursing Woman's Medical College of Philadelphia in 1942.
Mildred was employed as a registered nurse working at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and for Dr. Mogil Urologist, both of Philadelphia. She retired in 1983.
She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Brodheadsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Hefner, in 2003; two brothers, Kenneth H. Wolfgang and James L. Wolfgang.
Surviving are three children, Frank D. Hefner and his wife, Anne, Avon, Conn., Allen J. Hefner and his wife, Jodie, Norristown, and Carolyn A. Crugnale and her husband, James, Chalfont; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Patricia Wolfgang; nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 16 at Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Road, Klingerstown. Interment was in Jacob's Cemetery, Pitman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at CFF c/o M. Hefner, 178 Sleighride Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.
