Merle M. English, 100, formerly of Tower City, died Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Tremont Health and Rehab.

Born in Carsonville, March 2, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Annie Zimmerman.

She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City. Merle retired as a seamstress from the garment industry.

In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband, Lloyd, 1982; a daughter, Esther Jane Klinger; 1995, two brothers, Clair and Floyd Zimmerman, three sisters, Verna Perry, Dorothy Zimmerman and Arletta Paulus.

Surviving are a daughter, Edith Dreisigacker, Tower City; son, James English and his wife Faye, Tower City; two brothers, Glenn Zimmerman, Halifax; Dale Zimmerman, Carsonville; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. Nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 19 from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc. Tower City with Rev. Natalya Cherry officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations should be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 363 S. Rt 100, Allentown, PA 18106.
