Melvin E. Stoltzfus, 71, of Hegins, died July 4, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born in Gap, PA on April 19, 1942, a son of the late Sylvia (Zook) Stoltzfus and the late John M. Stoltzfus.

Melvin was a farmer and self employed at his carriage shop.

He was the husband of Ruth (Glick) Stoltzfus.

Melvin is survived by his loving spouse Ruth Stoltzfus, three daughters - Martha and husband Mahlon Fisher of Stevens, Barbie and husband Amos Stoltzfus of Hegins, Marianne and husband Allen Fisher of Sacramento; six brothers - Amos and wife Arianna Stoltzfus of Gap, Jonas and wife Emma Stoltzfus of Narvon, Elam and wife Sara Stoltzfus of Spring Glen, John Stoltzfus of Narvon, Stevie and wife Lydia Stoltzfus of Gap, Paul and wife Naomi Stoltzfus of Leola; sister - Mary and husband Jonas Beiler of Narvon; and 26 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four infant children.

Funeral ceremony was held Monday, July 8, at 9 a.m. at his residence. Interment was in the Spring Glen Cemetery.
