Marie E. Kramer, 92 of 256 Doutyville Rd., Shamokin died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at Mount Carmel Senior Living Facility where she had been a resident since October. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. Kramer, who died in November of 1970.
Born Monday, February 2, 1920 in Doutyville, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Lucy (Cooper) Bird. She was a housekeeper in the town of Shamokin.
Marie was a member of Christ United Church of Christ of Helfenstein where she served as the treasure of the women's fellowship. She was a member of the Ramblers and enjoyed watching TV and in her younger years was an avid reader.
Surviving are two daughters, Dianna Boyer and her husband Roger of Doutyville and Sharon Long of Shamokin; one daughter-in-law, Alma Kramer, Levittown; six grandchildren, Linda Kahler, Rodney Boyer, Robert Boyer, Allen Kramer, Leonard Kramer and Stephanie Long; three step-grandchildren, Frank, Jeri and Ken Schaffer; 11 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death one son, Allen Kramer; two grandsons, Daniel Long, Jr. and Gerald Kramer; one great grandson, Michael Kahler; eight siblings.
Services were held on Monday, Jan. 7 at St. Paul's Reformed U.C.C Church, Gowen City, with Rev. Jerry Schlegel officiating.
Interment followed in St. Paul's Reformed UCC Cemetery.
