Margaret A. Shoop, 84, formerly of Halifax, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Kepler Convalescent Home, Elizabethville.

She was the wife of the late Irvin E. Shoop who passed away January 19, 1999. She was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas E. Shoop, who died February 2.

Marg was born in Lykens on May 27, 1928, a daughter of the late Earl and Bertha Enders Pell.

She was employed by the Millersburger Hotel as a waitress for many years. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling, camping and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She was a member of the Valley's E.C. Church, Halifax; Lykens Alumni Assoc; Glen Chapter No. 425, Order of The Eastern Star, Lykens, Red Hat Society, Tall Cedar Cheerettes, Millersburg, and a 1946 graduate of the former Lykens High School.

She is survived by two daughters: Cheryl A. Rabuck and her husband, Lloyd Sr., Jonestown; Anna M. Warner and her husband, David, Millersburg; a daughter-in-law, Janice Shoop, Halifax; a brother, Donald E. Pell Sr. and his wife, Alice, Harrisburg; five grandchildren: Lloyd Rabuck Jr., Richard Rabuck, Michelle Hoy, Cory Shoop, Kinda Warner; three great-grandchildren: Jackson Hoy, Reagan Rabuck, Abigail Rabuck; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 21, at the John R. Shultz Funeral Home, 406 Market St., Lykens, with Pastor Jonathan Albright officiating.

Eastern Star Services were held at the funeral home.

Interment was in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.
