Margaret A. Shadle, 99, of StoneRidge Poplar Run, Myerstown, formerly of Elizabethville, died Sunday, August 1, at Stone Ridge Poplar Run.

She was the widow of Henry V. Shadle who died January 13, 1964.

Born in Gratz, PA, on April 14, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Eva E. (Umholtz) Kissinger.

She had been a pheasant farmer for the Pennsylvania Game Commission for 19 years and had also worked in a sewing factory in Elizabethville for 15 years.

She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Myerstown, PA, and had been a member of the Quilting Circle of Salem Lutheran Church of Elizabethvile for many years and continued quilting when she came to Stone Ridge Retirement Village. She also enjoyed knitting, ceramics and being with her family.

She is survived by a grandson, Thomas husband of Melody Wolfe Hartman of Columbia, PA; granddaughter, Dena Hartman of Philadelphia, PA; great grandchildren, Austin Hartman, Johanna Hartman and Diana Kordek. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn S. Hartman, who died in 2007, son-in-law, Dean S. Hartman who died in 2008 and brothers, Levi and Marion Kissinger.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Sept. 2, at 9 a.m. at Stone Ridge Poplar Run Health Care Center, Myerstown, PA and Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church, Elizabethville, PA. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
