Mae M. Slingwine, 87, of Tower City, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013 at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Palmyra, March 19, 1926, a daughter of the late Edgar and Helen Miller Baker.

Mae was 1944 graduate of Tower City High School.

She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City, where she was a Sunday school teacher; on the altar guild and a member of the choir. She was also a member of the community choir.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Ross Baker and a sister, Jane Baker.

Surviving are three daughters, Diane H. Schwalm and her husband, Dale; Annette S. Weaver and her husband, Chris and Janice M. Yourgal and her husband, Joe, all of Tower City; one brother, Paul Baker, Delaware; three granddaughters, Melissa Schlauderaff, Jennifer Stroup and Meredith Yourgal; four great grandchildren, Colton and Cassidy Schlauderaff and Kathryn and Kristina Stroup; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 15 at 11 a.m. from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with Rev. Linda Bonfiglio officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 449 E. Grand Avenue, Tower City, PA 17980.
