LeMar R. Myers, 78, of Tower City, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012 at Golden Living Center, Camp Hill.

Born in Williamstown, July 9, 1934, he was a son of the late Lee and Mary Thomas Myers.

LeMar was a graduate of the former Williamstown High School.

He served in the Army during the Korean War.

For much of his career, he was with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Insurance Commission where he retired after 28 years of service as a supervisor.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City, and the Ashlar Lodge F&AM, Lykens.

LeMar was known by all as a man who would give of himself to make things better for his family, his community and all around him. Never one to sit on the sidelines, he was always involved and many times lead the charge to better the environment of those he loved and respected. However, he was one of the few men who could lead with a big heart and an amazing sense of humor.

LeMar spent his quiet time fishing in Clarks Valley and his free time vacationing with his family. He was the epitome of a family man as his children always came first.

In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by a sister, Rose Williard.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Joan Masterson Myers; a daughter, Linda S. Myers Drei and her husband, Michael, New Cumberland; a son, Kurt L. Myers and his wife, Angie, North Carolina; two beloved granddaughters, Laura Marie France, Mechanicsburg, and Sadie Darlene Myers, North Carolina; a sister, Mary Lee Patane, New Jersey; a brother, Lee T. Myers, Maryland; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 31 from the Chapel of Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, with the Rev. Linda Bonfiglio. Interment with military honors was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
