Kenneth M. Zerby, age 93, Loyalton, died Friday, Aug. 20, in his home.

Born March 12, 1917 in Lykens, he was the son of the late Earl and Clara Bitterman Zerby; the husband of the late Jean C. Thompson; and was also preceded in death by a son, Bob Zerby.

He was a 1934 graduate of the former Lykens High School and attended Albright College. He retired as a General Plant Superintendent from Reiff and Nestor Company.

Mr. Zerby was a life member of Liberty Hose Co. No. 2, both the fire company and the band; Dauphin County Volunteer Fireman's Assoc.; Wiconisco Fire Co. and St. Christopher Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, vegetable gardening, college football, especially Penn State, and most of all playing the trombone in the band.

Surviving are his 3 children, Kelly Hoover and her husband Parke, Gratz, Kim Troutman and her husband Ty, Loyalton, and Kent Zerby, Brick, NJ; 2 step-daughters, Debra Lenker and her husband Terry, Wiconisco, and Cathy Malone and her husband Mark, Harrisburg; a sister, Betty Rowe, Harrisburg; 5 grandchildren, Daisy Hoover, Tara Flanagan and her husband Mike, Brandon Miller, Zachary Zerby and Derrick Zerby; 2 great-grandchildren, Chanse Flanagan and Ayden Flanagan; and many step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 25, at St. Christopher Evangelical Lutheran Church, 635 North Second St., with The Rev. Kathleen Kuehl officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 Band, 553 South Second St., Lykens, PA 17048.

John R. Shultz Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
