June M. Hiester, 92, formerly of Pine Grove, died Tuesday, Jan. 17 at Stone Ridge, Myerstown.

Born in Wayne Township, Dec. 22, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Lillie Schaeffer Freeman.

June worked as a seamstress for Walk-In Shoe factory. During World War II, she worked at Sun Shipbuilding Co., Chester, as a welder.

She was affiliated with Zions Blue Mountain Church, Strausstown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy R. Hiester Sr.; a granddaughter, Joetta Hiester; and three great-grandchildren, Joshua Hiester, Matthew Miller and Charles Miller.

Surviving are a son, Roy Hiester Jr. and his wife, Judith C., Pine Grove; a daughter, Lois, wife of Earl I. Miller, Pine Grove; three grandsons, Rodney Hiester, Robert Hiester and Ronald Miller; a granddaughter, Debra Lehman; three great-grandsons, Dakota Hiester, Kwentin Miller and Isiah Miller; four great-granddaughters, Baylie Hiester, Katrinia Hiester, Holly Lehman and Keisha Miller; a great-grandson, Chad Lehman; and a sister, Ruth Breidigan, Myerstown.

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 21 at H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with SALM John Ziegler officiating. Interment followed in Hetzel's Cemetery, Pine Grove. The family would prefer contributions be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 16 N. Fourth St., Minersville, PA 17954.
