Jean K. Dietrich, 82, of 204 Gap Street, Valley View, died Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

She was born on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 1930, in Valley View, a daughter of the late Howard H. and Vada E. Schwalm Hepler.

She was a 1948 graduate of the former Hegins Twp. High School.

She was a secretary for her late husbands business, Russell Dietrich Construction.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church; where she was a former Sunday School teacher.

She was also a former member of the Swatara Chapter Order of Eastern Star.

Jean enjoyed crafts and swimming. She had taught swimming to many children and adults in the area. She was also a former Brownie Scout leader.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell F. Dietrich in 2006. She was also preceded in death by a sister Irene Osman; and two brothers Russell Hepler and Walter Hepler.

She is survived by three daughters Sherry R. McDonald and her husband James of Valley View, Robin J. Otto and her husband Rick of Valley View, and Lisa L. Emerich of Wethersfield, CT; a twin brother Eugene Hepler of Morrisville; eight grandchildren Jennifer, Ross, Elliott, Emily, Everett, Eden, Elyse, and Lizzie; two great-grandchildren Jordan and Jackson; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, on Wednesday, June 12, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Brian Beissel and Rev. Guy Grube officiating.

Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Valley View.
