Jay L. Oxenrider, 82, of Tower City, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital, Danville.

Born in Orwin, February 17, 1930, he was a son of the late Albert and Beatrice Long Oxenrider.

Jay was a 1948 graduate of the former Porter Township High School. He was an Air Force Veteran. He was a retired engineer from the former AMP, Inc. Tower City.

He attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City; was a member of the Swatara Lodge, F&AM, Tremont; the Williamstown American Legion; Twin Cedar Gun Club and the Broad Mountain Hunting Club and the NRA.

Jay was an avid outdoorsman and hunter.

In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by two brothers, Dale and Forrest Oxenrider.

Surviving are three daughters, Kathy Davis, TN; Judy Oxenrider, Williamstown and Jane Shuey and her husband Todd, Tower City; three grandchildren, Molly Barner, Perry Shuey and Kris Meyers; two great grandchildren, Aidan Barner and Addison Meyers.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, Feb. 5 from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, with Rev. Linda Bonfiglio officiating. Burial with military honors was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Tower Porter EMS, P.O. Box 33, Tower City PA 17980.
