Janice Renee Blyler, 82, of 1055 West Main St., Valley View, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, Tremont.

She was born on Thursday, July 17, 1930, in Valley View, a daughter of the late Samuel and Gussie (Herb) Blyler.

She was a 1948 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School .

She had worked on the family farm and also at the former Hegins Precission Division of Penn Reel until her retirement. Janice enjoyed Penn State and the Philadelphia sports teams.

She was a member of the Valley View Church of God.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Blyler and Paul Blyler and three sisters, Marie Wessner, Marian Schrawder and Jeanne Schrope.

She is survived by four nieces, Pat Kehler of Lebanon, Carol Erdman of Colorado, Beverly Klinger of Valley View and Rachel Frederick of Allentown and one nephew James Schrope of California; as well as great nieces and great nephews.

Services will be held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Saturday, May 18, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Gerald Frey and Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home.

Burial will be made in Church of God Cemetery, Valley View.

Memorial contributions can be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 1401 W. Pennsylvania Street, Allentown PA 18102 or the American Heart Association.

Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
