Irvin E. Neiswender, 83, of Elizabethville, died Monday, June 7, at the Harrisburg Hospital
Born in Ashland, R.D., February 17, 1927, he was a son of the late Albert and Rebecca Crabb Neiswender.
He was a retired coal miner.
He was a very proud army veteran of WW II and Korea.
He was of the protestant faith and a member of the Lykens American Legion. Irvin's family meant the world to him.
In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by his wife, Shirley M. Herring Neiswender, January 19, 2008, a granddaughter, Kathy Neiswender and a great grandson, Abram Neiswender.
Surviving are five sons, Wallace Herring and his wife Sandra, Pine Grove; James Neiswender and his wife Diane, Lykens; David Neiswender and his wife Tammy, Gratz; Thomas Neiswender and his wife Eileen, Elizabethville; Terry Neiswender and his wife Linda, Pitman; one daughter, Linda Long and her husband Russell, Klingerstown. 11 Grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one sister, Esther Shirley Barnhill, Halifax, two step-sisters, Joyce Grosser, Lykens and Helen Pinkerton, Williamstown, one step-brother, Raymond Frederick, Berrysburg.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 11, from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc. Tower City with Rev. Barry Ridge officiating. Burial with military honors was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
