Irma R. Foley, 84, of Cressona, formerly of Philadelphia and Pine Grove and a resident at Orwigsburg Center, died Friday, Jan. 22, at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.
She was the widow of Peter J. Foley, who died in 1978, and a friend of Edward Romanowski.
She worked as an electrical technician for Honeywell, retiring in 1984.
She attended Outwood Church in Pine Grove.
Irma enjoyed polka dancing.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanne Catherine Foley-Osowski; two sisters, Janet Rzepski and Sleata Nuskey; a brother, Robert McKenna.
Surviving are a daughter, Irma Teresa “Terry,” wife of William Hanley, Pine Grove; a son, Albert Netzer, husband of Gloria, Pine Grove; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Kathryn McGahan and Sadie Zuber, both of Philadelphia; two brothers, Edward Mc-Kenna, husband of Carol, and Harry McKenna, husband of Anna, all of Philadelphia; nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life services were conducted Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Outwood Evangelical Lutheran Church, 934 Outwood Drive, Pine Grove Township, with the Rev. Cynthia Kennet officiating. Interment was private at convenience of the family. The family would prefer contributions be sent to The Alzheimer’s Association , 3544 Progress Ave., Harrisburg, PA.
