Howard Albert Osman, 81, of 2115 East Main St., Valley View, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at his home.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Osman; his second wife, Helene Osman; and is survived by his companion, Eva Slodysko of Shamokin.

Born Wednesday, October 21, 1931 in Trevorton, he was a son of the late Harvey Howard and Eva Osman. He was previously employed as a farmer, worked at Brubaker Tools, and he retired from Reiff and Nestor. He also delivered Bickels chips to numerous stores in the area for many years.

He enjoyed collecting toys and going to sales.

Surviving are twelve children; Dean Osman, Mae Vivan, Emma Wolfgang, Hazel Barry, William Osman, Ethel Mutchler, Carol Pasirba, Rose Reedy, Russell Osman, Mary Lou Bixler, David Osman, and Charles Osman; 38 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one sister, Sharon Osman; three half-sisters, Marlene Long, Shirley Miller and Cheryl Brown; three half-brothers, Kenneth Roadcap, Bill Adams and George Adams.

He was preceded in death by two great grandchildren.

A viewing was held on Thursday, Jan. 3, at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Rd., Klingerstown, PA where the funeral followed with Rev. Joel McGravey. Interment was in Rickard Memorial Cemetery, in Upper Paxton Township. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
