Harold R. "Barney" Klinger, 91, formerly of Williamstown and Tower City, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 at Schoolyard Square, Pine Grove.
Born in Williamstown, April 29, 1921, he was a son of the late Charles and Sadie Klinger.
Harold was a graduate of the former Williamstown High School.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Williamstown American Legion.
He retired from Fort Indiantown Gap and the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, 131st Transportation Company.
He was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June M. Carl Klinger, in 2007; a brother, Arthur Klinger; and sisters, Midge Watkins, Mary Sansone, Joyce Scherer and Helyn Rettinger.
Surviving are a daughter, Kay Klinger and her husband, Barry, Idaho; a granddaughter, Pamela M. Fetterhoff and her husband, Scott, Tower City; a great-granddaughter, Ashley M. Lavolia and her husband, Joe, Elizabethtown; two sisters, Donna Updegrave, Manheim, and Ruth McCormick, Lykens; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12 from the Chapel of Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, with the Rev. Natalya Cherry officiating.
