Harold E. (Pap) Schell, Sr., age 85 , of Powells Valley Road, Halifax, died February 8, 2014 at the Harrisburg Hospital.

He was born in Halifax, the son of the late William and Alice Shutt Schell and the widower of Anna Mae Schoffstall Schell.

Harold worked for Tobias Block and Excavating, LB Smith Equipment, John Stapf Cement Company and then retired from the former Perk Dog Food Company.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and word search books.

Surviving are four sons, Harold, Jr. (Lyn), George (Brenda) both of Halifax, Robert of VA and John (Shannon) of Millersburg; a daughter, Maryann Dunham (Bob) of Carlisle; a sister, Margaret Deiter of Halifax; and a brother, William; 10 grandchildren, Mike, Andy, Amanda, Brad, Faith, Robert, Jeremy, Angie, Ashley and Ani; 13 great-grandchildren Shane, Tyler, Amber, Matthew, Brandon, Rachel, Dalton, Kory, Ethan, Adriana, Giuliana, Ethan and Mila. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph.

The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Halifax U.M. Church. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Dale Parker officiating.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. James Cemetery in Carsonville.
