Gloria L. Peffley

Gloria Leah (Brosius) Peffley, 81, of Millersburg, died Saturday, Jan. 7, at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill.

Born on June 18, 1930, she was a daughter of William C. Brosius and his wife, Florence Alva Kieffer. Both were descendants of founders of Himmel's Lutheran Church, established in the Schwaben Creek in 1772.

Gloria studied at Millersville University, where she met and married Robert L. Peffley. Together, they lived in San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Milheim, PA., eventually settling in Norwich, New York, raising four children along the way.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years Robert; son Michael Peffley, daughter Cynthia Rogers, son Robert Peffley and wife Barbara, and daughter Teresa Cooper and husband Lee; nine grandchildren: Amanda, Jennifer, and Nathan Rogers; Alex, Nikolay, Gennady, and Veronica Peffley; Nicholas and Sophie Cooper; four brothers, Glen, James, Robert and Richard Brosius; two sisters, Corrine Rothermel and Leona Latshaw; three aunts, Maizie Snyder, Irma Rebuck and husband John, and Anna Hampton; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 14, at Himmel's Church, Rebuck, with the Rev. Jane Campton officiating. Interment was in Himmel's Cemetery. The Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home 1133 Ridge RD., Klingerstown, was in charge of the arrangements.
