Gerald L. Clay Jr., age 92, died Friday, March 22, 2013 at home, 212 North Second St. Lykens, with his wife of 65 years, Doris V. Clay and 3 daughters, Donna, Karen and Sandy at his side.
He was born in Pottstown, PA, January 16, 1921, son of the late Gerald L. Clay Sr. and the late Ethel Whiteman Clay.
Gerald was a 1939 graduate of the former Lykens High School; a retired employee of Nedrich Manufacturing, Elizabethville; a Navy Veteran of World War II; a Member of Lykens United Methodist Church; Lykens Area Senior Citizens; a 60 year member of Lykens American Legion Post # 124 and inducted into the Pennsylvania Voters Hall of Fame.
In addition to his wife Doris and three daughters Donna Donaldson, Enola, Karen Burley, Chesterfield, VA and Sandy Clay, Lykens, he is survived by four grandchildren, Michael L. Donaldson, Ryan A. Underkoffler, Shane H. Ressler Jr. and Lindsay M. Ressler; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Ressler, Hailey Ressler and Katie Kitchen.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 27, at the John R. Shultz Funeral Home, 406 Market St., Lykens, with Pastor Carl E. Slough officiating, and graveside services in Calvary United Methodist Cemetery, Wiconisco, PA with Pastor Slough officiating and Gratz V.F.W. Post #2385 in charge of Graveside Military Services.
