George A. Adams, Jr., 83, of Williamstown, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at the Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.

Born in Williamstown, June 20, 1930, he was a son of the late George Sr. and Ethel Kaurdman Adams. He was a graduate of the former Williamstown High School Class of 1949.

George retired from the former AMP, Inc., Williamstown.

He loved his hometown - serving as a member of the Williamstown military band, the water and sewer authority, and as a faithful member of the congregation of the Williamstown United Methodist Church. He also served on the board of the Methodist Cemetery.

In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by two sisters, Dorothy Lowrie and Pauline Challenger.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, LaVerne M. White Adams; two daughters, Pam L. Miller and her husband Clair, Muir; and Gale A. Kaster and her husband Fred, Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Jason, Nathan and Jennifer Miller, Adam and Amanda Kaster; one great-granddaughter, Stella Miller; nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, Oct. 29 from the Williamstown United Methodist Church with Pastor Monica Romberger officiating. Burial was in the Methodist cemetery.
