Florence A. Schell, 90, of Tower City, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at the Manor of the Susquehanna Village, Millersburg.

Born in Tower City, February 27, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Harrison and Katie Welker Workman.

Florence was a graduate of the former Porter-Tower High School. She was a retired seamstress from the garment factory.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City and the ILGWU.

In addition to her parents she was pre-deceased by her husband, Stewart, 1983; two sisters, Blossom Kessler and Bessie Nelson.

Surviving are three daughters; Kathryn Mace and her husband Raymond, Virginia; Blanche Updegrave and her husband Bruce, Reading and Darlene Yerger and her husband Dennis, Tower City; two sisters, Gladys Bohner, Lykens and Kathryn Knorr, Tower City; six grandchildren, Cindy, Danielle, Aaron, Pamela, Denny and Denean; ten great grandchildren.

Privates services will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Natalya Cherry officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Florence's name should be made to; Tower/Porter Rotary Club, c/o Paul Dimon, 644 E. Grand Avenue, Tower City PA 17980.
