Evelyn M. "Skip" Readinger, 90, formerly of Williamstown, died on Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Colonial Park Care Center, where she had resided for the last four years.
Born in Williamstown on February 19, 1922, a daughter of the late George W. and Mae Thompson Bond.
She was a graduate of the former Williamstown High School, and the former Central Pennsylvania Business School. She was a former employee of Nationwide Insurance Co., Harrisburg. She also retired as office manager in 1984, from Smith Insurance Agency, Williamstown, after more than 20 years of service. She was a member of the former Christ Episcopal Church, Lykens where she served on the Vestry.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Vincent of 52 years on August 16, 1999; a brother, George Bond; a sister Alma Kissinger and an infant son Richard.
Surviving are two sons, David and his wife Cindy of Bowie, MD; and Kevin and his wife Cathy of Tampa, FL; one daughter, Barbara and her husband Donald "Pete" Evans, Harrisburg. Eight grandchildren; Becky (Bill) Bell, Jennifer (Chad) Carson, Rachel (Brian) Doyle, Erin (Carl) Schuettler, Suzanne (Nevin) Warner, Andrea Evans and her boyfriend Jody Allen, Eric (Nicki) Readinger, and Kristin (Ryan) Guarisco. 11 Great grandchildren, Zachary, Ryan and Adam Bell; Jacob, Joseph and Tyler Carson; Katie and Cullen Schuettler; Morgan and Riley Warner; Avery Readinger and a 12th great grandchild to be born in May; one sister, Ruth Battista, NJ.
Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 21 from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc. Tower City. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Williamstown.
