Elizabeth Louise Hodges Bagger, 90, died Saturday, August 17, 2013 at her home in Luther Crest Retirement Community in Allentown.

She was the wife of the late Rev. Dr. Ralph W. Bagger. Born in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Lawrence and Irma (Goeser) Hodges.

She received her A.B. degree from Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, PA, and her M.Ed with major in English from Kutztown University, Kutztown, PA.

Mrs. Bagger was a teacher of English in the Tri-Valley High School, Hegins, and at the Norristown Area High School in Norristown, where she also taught Literature of the Bible. At Norristown, she initiated a Student Exchange Program with schools in England, Wales and Germany. She was very involved in Lutheran Church Life including the Lutheran Seminary at Philadelphia and the regional Lutheran Archives Center.

Survivors include sisters-in-law, Carol Skinner, Barbara Rhyne, Vivian Hodges, Mary Hodges; nieces, Cheryl Hodges, Deborah Hodges; and nephews Daniel Hodges, Michael Hodges and J. David Hodges.

Services were held Sunday, Aug. 25, at Christ Lutheran Church, 1245 W. Hamilton St., Allentown, followed by refreshment and fellowship in the church social hall.
