Eldon H. Miller, 75, of Tower City, died Tuesday, June 22, at his home.
Born in Tower City, July 21, 1934, he was a son of the late Cloyd and Maude Miller.
He was a 1952 graduate of Porter Tower High School. He served with the United States Air Force, stationed in Dover, Delaware.
He retired from the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company and J.H. Deiter and Sons, Tower City and was working part-time as a custodian at the Williamstown American Legion #239, which he was also a member.
Eldon was a little league coach and umpire for many years and recently started coaching again.
He played the trumpet for many years in the former Williamstown Military Band, he also played for the Tremont Community Band and the Liberty Hose Band, Lykens.
He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City where he was formerly in the choir.
In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by a son Eldon, Jr. (Butch); a sister Beatrice and two brothers Bruce and Frank.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Betty Kantner Miller; two sons, David and his wife Tammy, Elizabethville, and Steve, Tower City; a grandson, whom he dearly loved, Keith; a brother Donald and his wife Shirley, Sunbury; a brother-in-law, Edward Kantner and his wife Brenda, Cressona and an aunt Margaret House of Colorado. Nieces and nephews.
A viewing was held Thursday, June 24, in the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc. Tower City. Cremation will follow at the discretion of the family.
